Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® Franchises are awarded to those who can demonstrate the ability to direct day-to-day business operations with the commitment and desire to dedicate to a franchise program of long-term, profitable growth. A food and business background is helpful but not required for you to be awarded a Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® franchise. Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® Field Consultants provide in-depth, on-site training and support.

No Cutting Corners, Ever!

Less than 5% of all pizza shops offer old fashioned, square pizza to their customers. Jimmy Z's further differentiates themselves from their competitors with their twice-baked crust and fresh ingredients. Jimmy Z's has the best. And it all starts with the dough, made from only 100% natural ingredients. The dough is made fresh every day for a delicious flavor that gives Jimmy Z's Pizza the Crust with Crunch™. Jimmy Z's Old Fashioned Square Pizza was handed down from family in Italy over 30 years ago. The sauce is made from 100% Fresh Tomatoes, hand-squeezed just like in Italy. Our special blend of cheese is 100% real cheese. Our family-owned business continues to gain loyal customers because we are committed to serving only the very best square pizza made from the freshest ingredients.

Location and Storefronts

Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® shops range in size from 600 - 1000 sq. ft. Store fronts are located mainly in freestanding buildings or retail areas in small towns. Most of our shop locations are rented or leased by a franchisee rather than being purchased. Accessibility to residential areas with high pedestrian traffic flow is a major consideration in the selection of a Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® location.

We're Hands On

Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® takes a hands-on approach to the development and implementation of its franchise support programs, both during your build out, and as you get your store up and running. For site selection, we establish your exclusive territory based on strategy and information drawn from years of business experience. Jimmy Z's Square Pizza® will provide an extensive training program designed to make the franchisee successful. The Program includes both classroom and business training along with hands on operations training at one of our locations.

Advertising and Marketing Support

A Jimmy Z's Consultant will work closely with franchisees to increase sales and profit at the unit level. Your consultant will be especially helpful in your marketing and advertising efforts:

  • Designing insert flyers
  • Creating point-of-sale banners
  • Promotions: Fund raising activities with local schools, booster clubs and many other community groups

Your Slice of the Pie

"What are The Top 5 Questions to Ask a Franchisor"

1. What training and ongoing support do you provide?

You want to know what happens after you pay the initial fee. A strong franchisor provides comprehensive pre-opening training, site-selection help, operational playbooks, and continuous assistance with marketing, technology, and supply chains.

2. What is the total initial investment, and did actual startup costs match the estimates in Item 7 of the FDD?

The Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) lists estimated startup costs in Item 7, but real-world expenses can run higher. Asking how closely current owners tracked to these estimates reveals if you need extra working capital or if hidden fees exist.

3. How do royalties and local/national marketing fees impact profitability?

You need to understand ongoing financial obligations-such as monthly royalty percentages and ad fund contributions-and evaluate whether the brand value and support justify cutting into your profit margins.

4. What are the common challenges new franchisees face, and how do you help them overcome them?

Transparent franchisors will openly discuss real hurdles like local competition, tight labor markets, or supply chain bottlenecks, and show you the exact playbook or field support they offer to solve them as well as allowing you to speak with other franchisees.

5. How many franchise locations have closed or left the system in the past few years, and why?

High turnover, store closures, or quiet franchise exits are major red flags. This question measures system stability, territory health, and whether the corporate team addresses struggling owners or lets them fail.
