About Us

Thank you for your interest in elements therapeutic massage™. Our franchise model is the result of a unique collaboration between two very talented parties; Michele Merhib CMT and Fitness Together. Michele Merhib, our founder, opened her first massage therapy studio in Colorado seven years ago. She very quickly built up a successful business almost exclusively by word of mouth. Within three years of opening her first location it was obvious that she would be well served to open a second location and that is exactly what she did. Michele's vision and drive made her businesses a huge success and as a result, I had an opportunity to meet her through a mutual business partner.

Fitness Together is the largest personal training organization in the world and we have over 500 franchised locations in five countries. As a leader in the fitness industry we actively pursue ways to add value to our clients and the community at large. By teaming up with Michele Merhib, we have been able to expand our influence and help larger numbers of people through the creation of elements therapeutic massage.

One thing that was clear from the beginning of our partnership was the amazing similarity between the personal training industry and the massage therapy industry. As the world leader in personal training and 25 years of business experience, we know that Fitness Together is uniquely positioned to leverage our business systems and operational capabilities to become the leader in the massage therapy industry.

At the core of our beliefs is the understanding that we need to take care of only two people to make our businesses successful; the client and the therapist. Our service is our product and every session is our chance to prove that we provide the best therapeutic massage available. By listening to our clients and providing a relaxing and therapeutic experience we become an essential part of their lives. Our therapists are the key to our business. We always treat our therapists with respect and provide a professional, warm place for them to practice their craft. Beyond that, we believe in providing opportunities for professional growth for our therapists as well. By taking care of these people we ensure that our vision will be realized and that we will continue to be the premier wellness organization in the world.

"What are The Top 5 Questions to Ask a Franchisor"

1. What training and ongoing support do you provide?

You want to know what happens after you pay the initial fee. A strong franchisor provides comprehensive pre-opening training, site-selection help, operational playbooks, and continuous assistance with marketing, technology, and supply chains.

2. What is the total initial investment, and did actual startup costs match the estimates in Item 7 of the FDD?

The Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) lists estimated startup costs in Item 7, but real-world expenses can run higher. Asking how closely current owners tracked to these estimates reveals if you need extra working capital or if hidden fees exist.

3. How do royalties and local/national marketing fees impact profitability?

You need to understand ongoing financial obligations-such as monthly royalty percentages and ad fund contributions-and evaluate whether the brand value and support justify cutting into your profit margins.

4. What are the common challenges new franchisees face, and how do you help them overcome them?

Transparent franchisors will openly discuss real hurdles like local competition, tight labor markets, or supply chain bottlenecks, and show you the exact playbook or field support they offer to solve them as well as allowing you to speak with other franchisees.

5. How many franchise locations have closed or left the system in the past few years, and why?

High turnover, store closures, or quiet franchise exits are major red flags. This question measures system stability, territory health, and whether the corporate team addresses struggling owners or lets them fail.
